One of my favorite places to use a magnetic charger is on my desk. A stand positions my iPhone at an angle that makes it easy for me to see notifications, plus there’s the grab-and-go benefit of not having to physically unplug my phone when I pick it up.
Anker Wireless Charger is a pretty good magnetic wireless charging stand for iPhone and AirPod Pro. To decide if this is a good choice for you, you need to ask yourself what you want it to do. MagSafe as a charger is kind of a mixed bag.
If you need two hands to disconnect the phone from the charger, what have you really gained vs a cable, which charges faster and more efficiently? For me, the biggest answer is space on my nightstand. I hate cables dangling around and needing to find the right one, and this charges my AirPods or a second phone as well.
So for me, this has a purpose. But as a single charger for one phone, I’d argue a regular Anker wireless stand is better because it’s easier to get the phone on and off the charger. For a nice all in one device that can charge two things overnight, or possibly to watch video at a desk, this is good, but I don’t think it offers a lot over traditional Qi chargers and/or wired charging. All depends on what you want to get out of it.
