The trapper hat was originally used for certain needs and not as a fashion style as it is today. Through the development of modern styles, these hats have evolved, the materials used are not only using real animal fur, but also with fake fur to reduce the killing of animals as a business.
The trapper/bomber hat first came into style around the 1870s. There were different versions of the hat but it basically was a full hat that covered the head with ear flaps going down the side. On some hats there was a strap that could hold the ends of the hat together at the bottom while others had strings dangling down.
This style of hat has recently made a comeback. It looks stylish when worn in the winter and also is very functional. It keeps the head and ears warm and this is where you lose most of your body heat during the cold months. They are available in a wide array of colors and patterns so you can always find a hat you love.
The bomber style hat actually originated from Russia and Germany where pilots wore them in the war. Rabbit fur was one of the most commonly used materials in these hats when they first came into style. The mad bomber hats and aviator hats which are similar styles were also popular during circa WW1 period.
They were made of sheepskin typically back then but are now available in various materials. There are even faux fur bomber hats for those who do not promote wearing real fur. This type of headgear sits low on the forehead and has earmuffs to protect the ears, cheeks and neck in extreme cold.
Currently, the use of real fur for hats is decreasing, because people are increasingly aware not to use real fur so that animals do not become extinct due to human greed. In addition, faux fur hats also have a much cheaper price so that the price can be affordable by all people around the world.
In the past, trapper hats like this were often used by people who worked in areas with very cold weather. But now, they are widely used by fashion lovers and often worn by ski or snowboard enthusiasts. I have also seen several young men and women who wear hats like this as a street fashion and not only worn in winter.
If you live in an area that has winter and want to get warm and stylish, then a hat like this is perfect to add to your hat collection. Faux fur hats like this can be used indoors and outdoors, they are suitable for women and men and even children.
If you are looking for a faux fur trapper/bomber hat, below I give some recommendations, which in my opinion these faux fur hats are very cool and have good quality.
